Advanced Learning for Kids Foundation (ALKF)

Our vision is to identify and unlock the potential of gifted youth in economically disadvantaged countries by accelerating access to resources and elite educators in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Given the proliferation of technology in modern society, ALKF believes that lack of early access to technology in disadvantaged countries creates a pernicious feedback loop which serves to widen disparities between wealthy and poor countries. Whereas youth in wealthy countries may have easy access to advanced technology from a young age, thus allowing for valuable education and experience during the critical early years of brain development, the same is not true in an unacceptably large number of countries.

This deprivation of early access to education and experience not only robs local communities of their potential, it deprives the entire world of the cumulative benefits that would otherwise inure to society vis-à-vis higher levels of education.

General Goal Overview:

• Identify disadvantaged schools and educational facilities.
• Acquire and donate lacking resources, e.g. computers, satellite internet, curricula, etc.
• Design "getting started" lessons/programs, e.g. coding, physics, and math tutorials.
• Identify prodigious students and provide one-on-one lessons by experienced tutors.
• For exceptionally talented students of appropriate age, foster their abilities by connecting them with universities, professors, labs, etc.
• Assist in finding employment, consulting on local societal development, general guidance counseling, etc.

ALKF is a privately funded initiative by a small group of technology entrepreneurs.
